Appalachian Trail Hike to Little Rock Pond

Wow!  What a splendid hike we had yesterday back to Little Rock Pond on the Appalachian Trail near Danby,VT.   The colors were just amazing!  I really enjoyed the exercise in the cool autumn air.  I was able to enjoy this hike along with my brother-in-law, sister, and their two sets of twins.  If you’re ever looking for an activity that is enjoyable, beautiful, and that you can do at your own pace, try hiking.  It’s a great chance to spend some quality time with your family and be surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature.  I like to look up at the blue sky from the base of a tree.  It just makes you feel so small but it’s also a very nice perspective.  Keep looking up, that’s a great motto to keep daily in your life!

While we were hiking back into Little Rock Pond, we had the opportunity to be on a trail that bordered this beautiful little stream below!

Below are some examples of beautiful leaves that were strewn all over the path.  We also saw many gold and purple leafed shrubs decorating fallen logs like the one below.

After about 2 1/2 hrs. hiking in, we made it to our destination of Little Rock Pond below.  We still managed to get out of the woods before sunset.  What a wonderful day spent enjoying a healthy activity with the family!   by Darren Briggs, Life Coach
